Rylie is a seasoned advocate with extensive experience representing clients in Local and District Courts throughout Sydney and the wider metropolitan area. Her in-depth knowledge of this jurisdiction has fostered strong relationships with Magistrates, Judges, opposing counsel, and other key stakeholders. Rylie's practice focuses on defended hearings involving charges such as Sexual Touching, Domestic Violence (including offenses involving children), AVOs, Assaults, and Drug offences in the Local Court. She is also experienced in handling serious traffic matters, including Dangerous Driving and Police Pursuit offences. Her expertise extends to Bail applications in both the Local and Supreme Courts, with a solid understanding of 'Show Cause' provisions.
Skilled in navigating the committal process for complex and serious alleged offences, such as sexual assault and drug matters, Rylie leverages her background as a solicitor to collaborate with esteemed Counsel during Trials.
Understanding that many individuals initially appear in the Local Court without legal representation and may not achieve their desired outcomes, Rylie offers valuable advice and advocacy in Appeals against Convictions or Sentences in the District Court.
A member of the Legal Aid General Criminal Law Panel and contributor to the Law Society of NSW Pro Bono Scheme, Rylie is also a member with the Law Society of NSW Young Lawyers. She holds a Bachelor of Business, a Bachelor of Law (Honours), and a Diploma of Legal Practice from The University of Newcastle.
