Nevine has been a member of the Marsdens team since 1996. Nevine is the Partner in charge of the Family Law team at our Campbelltown office.
Nevine is an expert in Family Law and is accredited by The Law Society of NSW as a Family Law Accredited Specialist. Nevine specialises in Family disputes such as, parenting post separation, property matters including defacto and same sex matters, child support, spousal maintenance, Binding Financial Agreements and adoptions.
Nevine is a Nationally Accredited Family Dispute Resolution Mediator and is also accredited by the Attorney-General’s office as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP). As an FDRP, Nevine is able to assist parties going through separation to mediate their differences and to facilitate discussions so that they are able to avoid litigation through the Court system. Nevine as an FDRP, is also able to issue what is referred to as a s60I Certificate to evidence that the parties have participated in Family Dispute Resolution also known as mediation. This Certificate is usually essential before any Court proceedings are commenced unless there are exceptional circumstances.
Nevine appreciates the emotional and financial stress caused by a breakdown in a relationship. Nevine ensures that her focus is achieving the best results for her clients whilst ensuring that this is fulfilled in the most practical, speedy and cost effective way. Nevine is available for appointments at any of our offices as well as by telephone, Zoom and Skype appointments.
Nevine is also on the panel of Independent Children’s Lawyers and is often appointed to represent the best interests of children in Family Law proceedings.
Nevine has strong local involvement. Nevine is on the Management Committee of Macarthur Legal Centre and Sector Connect and has served on the executive of both organisations. Nevine is also on the Management Committee of Campbelltown Meals on Wheels.
Nevine has acquired a wide range of knowledge and experience. Regularly appearing as an advocate in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, Federal Magistrates Court and Local Courts, Nevine is a competent, reliable and committed member of the team. Nevine is committed to adopting a common sense approach to ensure that matters are conducted efficiently and economically.
In addition to her legal qualifications, Nevine holds a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Education for the University of New South Wales, majoring in Microbiology.
Nevine provides free legal advice at the Benevolent Society and other local organisations and has a strong involvement in the local community.
