John Adam | Consultant
John Adam is a consultant at Marsdens Law Group. He has been a lawyer since 1979 and shortly thereafter in 1980 he commenced working at Marsdens. From 1988 until June 2024, John was the firm's Managing Partner. The growth of the firm could not have been achieved without John's leadership.
John initially practised in the litigation area in our Liverpool office before taking over control of the office in 1982, specialising in Commercial and Property Law.
John became a Partner in 1985 and was appointed Managing Partner in 1988. He was well qualified for this position as in addition to his law degree, he had a Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in Accounting and was also an accredited Risk Manager. John’s strategic leadership of the practice has been instrumental to our development over his 36 years as Managing Partner.
John’s leadership skills have been demonstrated on both the sporting field and within the community. John played first grade rugby league for the North Sydney Bears between 1976 and 1984, captaining the team during 1981, 82 and 83. He was later a selector and then a Board member between 1995 and 2001. John was also the President of the Rugby League Players Association between 1985 and 1990 and still maintains a keen interest in Rugby League as a member of the Men of League.
John has been very active in local community organisations. He has been a member of Liverpool Rotary (since 1984), was a Board member and Chairman of the Mater Dei School Board, is secretary of one of our local organisations the Macarthur Club and is a Director of the South West Sydney Primary Health Network.
John is married with 4 children (all girls) and 5 grandchildren, and has lived in the Macarthur area since his football career concluded in 1984.
