Since joining Marsdens in 2014, Jisella has assisted councils, property developers and land holders in navigating all aspects of local government, planning and environment practice.
Jisella’s focus is in development appeals and she regularly appears as an advocate in the Land and Environment Court. She advises on a wide range of matters in this specialised area of law including environment and biodiversity, urban design and planning, subdivisions, state and local heritage, residential, commercial and mixed-use developments, seniors living and educational establishments.
Jisella is an active member of the legal profession, and enjoys being involved as a member of the Law Society NSW, NSW Young Lawyers Association and the Environmental Planning Lawyers Association. Having being born and raised in Wollongong, Jisella combines her love of the Illawarra region with her skills as a planning lawyer in her role as a member of the UDIA Illawarra Committee which meets monthly to discuss development in Wollongong, Shellharbour and Kiama.
Jisella graduated from the University of Wollongong in 2012 with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Communication and Media Studies majoring in Marketing and Advertising and went on to complete a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice with Australian National University in 2013.
Outside of the office, Jisella is involved in community, regularly attending networking and charity events within the community. Jisella has a passion for travel and has visited over thirty countries around the world. In her spare time Jisella plays netball, and enjoys cooking traditional Italian meals with her Nonna.
I was so impressed with the ability of Adam and Jisella to absorb the details of the appeal so effectively. Complex concepts were collated and presented brilliantly at critical times, turning the tide of the appeal from what seems marginal to very successful.
