In light of the devastating floods currently being experienced across the state, the New South Wales Land Registry Services have resolved to make all title searches, replacement Certificates of Title and plan imaging services free for property owners that are impacted by flooding.
These documents will assist owners in making future insurance claims, development applications and revealing the boundaries and easements of the affected land.
By waiving these costs, the scheme seeks to encourage affected landowners to rebuild and restart their recovery from the floods whilst reducing the financial burden. The Land Registry is currently introducing a framework to determine who has been impacted by flooding which will be advised on shortly.
